About me
I am a qualified translator and interpreter with a degree in Translation and Interpreting (1995-1999, Spain) and an MA in Literary Translation (1999-2000, UK). I have been translating and interpreting professionally since 2000 and specialise in the field of culture (art, entertainment industry, literature, tourism).
Although I now live in Madrid, I was born in London and was brought up in a bilingual and bicultural environment. My father is Spanish and my mother is British and fortunately they decided to make sure we could communicate with every member of our family. During the years I lived in London, we spoke Spanish at home. The tables turned when we moved to Madrid, and we spoke English at home.
Apart from English and Spanish, I also speak French. I translate texts from French into both Spanish and English although I don’t work as an interpreter in that language. I spent my Erasmus in Geneva and have also studied French language courses at the Sorbonne. After a trip to Turkey I decided to give Turkish a go, and I’ve been studying for five years. I can now understand it well enough to translate texts for class, although I have yet to find the courage to translate professionally.

Soy traductora e intérprete y tengo una Licenciatura en Traducción e interpretación (1995-1999, España) y un máster en Traducción Literaria (1999-2000, Inglaterra). Me di de alta en el año 2000 y me especializo en el campo de la cultura (arte, cine, televisión, prensa, literatura, turismo).
Aunque ahora vivo en Madrid, nací en Londres y me crié en un entorno bilingüe y bicultural. Mi padre es español y mi madre es británica y se esforzaron por que pudiéramos comunicarnos con todos nuestros familiares. Durante los años que viví en Londres hablamos español en casa y cuando nos mudamos a Madrid empezamos a hablar inglés en casa.
Aparte de español e inglés también hablo francés. Traduzco textos de francés a español e inglés aunque no trabajo como intérprete en ese idioma. Hice una beca Erasmus en Ginebra y he cursado estudios en la Sorbona. Después de visitar Turquía decidí empezar con el turco. Llevo estudiándolo cinco años y empiezo a traducir textos generales para clase, aunque todavía no me atrevo a lanzarme como traductora profesional en ese idioma.
